The Club
Brøndby IF, one of Denmark's most successful clubs of recent
decades, is coming to Altstätten. The club was founded in 1964
and has since celebrated eleven league titles and seven cup
victories – an impressive record for a relatively young club.
The club motto ‘No one is above the community’ continues to
shape Brøndby IF to this day. This spirit is evident not only on the
pitch, but also in the stands: in its own stadium, in front of almost
28,000 passionate fans, the club regularly provides spine-tingling
moments.
Brøndby has also made history internationally. In 1998, the team
from the Copenhagen area became the first Danish team ever to
qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League – a
milestone for Danish football as a whole.
Numerous well-known players took their first steps in
professional football at Brøndby, including legendary goalkeeper
Peter Schmeichel, who started his international career here.
Brøndby IF stands for success, talent development and genuine
football culture – a big name that is sure to generate excitement
in Altstätten.
